Volunteering at Mockingbird

Community involvement is essential to making Mockingbird a great place for our kids to learn and grow. Our school is lucky to have such involved and active parents to help on campus, fundraise for the school, and provide fun events that bring us together as a community. We are always in need of help for our many events, so thank you in advance for volunteering. When adults volunteer, all students benefit. 

Interest areas

To see the specific volunteer opportunities available, please check out the PTA volunteer interest form. Browse to see the areas we need help with, and you can use the form to provide us with your interests and availability (you can check multiple interest areas). Note, if you signed up at one of the parent volunteer meetings, no need to sign up in that category again. Your name and contact information will be given to the people that head up those committees.

Registering and logging hours

All volunteers must register every year with DISD. Please visit dallasisd.voly.org to complete your volunteer application and orientation.

• Volunteers must sign-in at the front office by logging onto the computer to receive your volunteer sticker.  Don't forget to log out when you leave the school.

• If you are new to Mockingbird, you will need to bring your driver's license the first time you go volunteer. 

• Get recognition for our school and for yourself for all of your volunteer hours. Hours worked outside of school count too, so don't forget to let us know what you've been doing.
