The Mockingbird Elementary PTA is a nonprofit, volunteer organization consisting of parents, teachers, and community members who are dedicated to making Mockingbird a top notch school for students to be nurtured and learn.
WHO can be a member?
Membership includes Mockingbird staff and volunteers. If you are a parent, protector, guardian, relative, friend, community member, Mockingbird graduate and/or staff member at Mockingbird, you can be a member.
WHAT does the PTA do?
Mockingbird PTA's primary objective is to provide our school with funds, programs, resources, and services (not covered by DISD funding) that will enrich and maximize the education of every child and benefit the school and staff. Initiatives include, but are not limited to:
- Field trips
- Art, cultural, and academic programs
- Classroom equipment
- Staff appreciation lunches
- Grants for faculty
- Book fair
- Fall carnival
- Kinder 101

FAQs
Will I have to go to meetings? No. PTA Members are welcome to attend monthly PTA board meetings, but attendance is not required.
Do I need to volunteer or spend a lot of time at the school? No. PTA members are not required to volunteer, though we encourage everyone to be as involved as their schedule allows. It's fun and a great way to connect with other parents and teachers. (Learn more about volunteering here.)
Do I have to include all of my information in the PTA directory? No. While one benefit of being a PTA member is receiving access to a secure, online MES directory, families are not required to include their contact information. When registering on this website, simply check the box to indicate whether you want your info to be included in the directory.
