Mockingbird Elementary originally opened as Stonewall Jackson Elementary on September 13, 1939. On July 1, 2018 the name was officially changed to Mockingbird Elementary School.

In addition to our academic achievements, Mockingbird contains a Dallas Regional Day School for the Deaf, Garden and a strong parent involvement through our PTA and other activities.
